Rehabilitation Assistant Direct Care
All Shifts - Full time or Part-time
Rainbow Rehabilitation Centers, a leader in the field of traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, has full-time or part-time positions available in our Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti and Farmington/Farmingtion Hills area facilities.
The Rehabilitation Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care in a group home setting. Duties range widely by level, but may include corrective teaching, accessing the community, taking vitals, passing medications, general activities of daily living (ADL’s) such as dressing, bathing, feeding, assisting in the restroom, and other duties as assigned.
Pay and Benefits
$9-$10/hr to start and on the job training provided. What we need is basically someone who can be me for the day! The plus for you is that you only have to be the domestic half of me, I'll still argue with insurance adjusters myself! We have a 25 month old son who is basically on a pretty consistent schedule so you'll (and he) will always know what to expect. Between 8:30AM and 3:30PM you would basically be responsible for playing with him, morning snack, Lunch, Nap Time and possible afternoon snack (if he gets up prior to 3:30PM). Now in the middle of that there might be light cleaning such as loading the dishwasher from breakfast, snacks and lunch or folding a load of laundry and corralling toys . We're basically pretty neat people (well as neat as you can be with a husband and a 2 year old son) so it would be nothing major. In a perfect day, our son would likely already be dressed for you but isn't potty trained so diapers are still a must. Pretty simple stuff.
Now...we ask that any candidate be willing to submit to a drug test and a background check and be ok with the possibility of an internet accessible nanny cam so that we may check in from time to time. While I wouldn't go as far as to say we are paranoid people, but have an acquaintance who's child was fatally harmed by a child care provider so you can certainly understand where we are coming from.
I would like to conduct interviews this week and next with a start date sometime during the week of 1/25/10. The beauty of this job is that I can work around your schedule from week to week!

I have too much work to do, so I'll just be working on my couch, so I can answer questions while you are organizing/etc before you start cleaning...
I have a 1000sq ft house, so I don't expect anyone to need to be here much more than 3-4hrs or so, to pick up and clean.. really only the main areas, the bedrooms don't really need to be gone into...
Let me know how cheap you'll do it, and tell me a little bit about you, and when you can come! Hourly is probably best, so if you let me know how much you want per hour, we can get something figured out right away!

Retrieve kindergartener and first-grader from latch-key at 6 PM;
Retrieve middle-school child from school at 2:45 PM for a very short time (about 1 week, maybe 2);
Drop kids off at home 7 miles away;
Potentially stay with kids until parent returns;
Potentially assist with various errands and tasks;
Good driving record;
People-person :)
Reliable transportation;
Ability to text as primary means of communication.
Our perfect schedule would be from 8:00am - 3:30pm, but we can be flexible with our employer and may be able to modify our schedule if we found a good fit.
Candidates must

4. Be agreeable to a back-ground check;
5. Be reliable. We need someone who will be here when we expect them so we can be at work when our employer expects us.
We are located near 16 Mile Road and Dodge Park in Sterling Heights, and prefer someone close by.
We would expect to start with a trial period and increase the number of hours / days when everyone is comfortable.

3. Most days Husband comes home from work for lunch usually between 1:00 and 2:00. He cooks for himself and watches tv or checks email in another part of the house, and then goes back to work. He does not expect to watch the baby during this time.
4. Our other two children will be home during the summer months. Candidate must be willing to be flexible with hours/days/number of children during these summer months.
We currently pay $40 per day. Our current nanny will be leaving us in February for her own family.
We would also like you to be available evenings from 6-9, to help with dinner and bedtime. Maybe a night for us to go out together or run seperate errands. Not all nights, but can be discussed during interview.
We would like to have this to advance to live-in status to allow us to both work full time and our sons to be in trusted care.
Compensation will be discussed during interview.
