Bluegrass project seeks dedicated male or female bluegrass musicians, including banjo, mandolin, lead acoustic guitar, dobro, and fiddle. "Dedicated" means regular scheduled practices (even with high gas prices, one regularly scheduled practice each week is not asking much), being available for gigs, and working on material at home on days not practicing. "Dedicated" also means musicians who want to play bluegrass first, not as an occasional outlet from another band or other commitments such as girl/boyfriends, 2nd/3rd jobs, etc. I need "professionalism," not "hobbyists."

Vocals a big plus, especially for harmonies (should have that high lonesome sound, not nasal or gritty). Working on original material, a few standards, and some unique covers (Lucinda Williams, Fred Eaglesmith, Gillian Welch, others). Mostly traditionalist sound, very little pop or progressive involved. I have been recording bands at bars forever(past 15 years for my pleasure). Now I would like to try making a business of it. I am not going to charge you up the whazoo and I don't even know if there is a market for this sort of thing. I will tell you that the video's look fantastic and the audio quality is good...can be better if I can record off a board though. I can make it to most gigs by 9pm.....I do have a day job too. Prices will range from $100 on up depending on how long you want me to be there and how far I have to drive. I also charge less if you just want me to set up a camera and not zoom in on anything ----but you could do that yourself. $100 would get you about 5 songs near the downriver area. Extra cost would include the cost of the HD disk, gas and any bar cover charges. Keep in mind that you can only watch HD disks in a blu-ray player, avchd players on a computer or a PS3 gaming system. Steven Spielberg I am not........however, my videos always get compliments. Unfortunately Hd content takes up a lot of space.

By the way, I record other things too, parties, weddings, etc..........not porn though.

lookin to join something established, if its out there, i can learn pretty much anything. im a great guy w/ a great sense of humor, and easy to get along w/ for real...i got a job and equipment...
i play guitar, and can play SOME bass now, (bass players know what that means.
i started out as a drummer as a kid, and have kept drums around, so i have a kit.
i feel pretty comfortable as a drummer and a bass player, and I have it in me to play some good guitar if i can get some pactice in w/ the right people.
i play mostly phyrgian mode..i like those scales a lot and lean on them pretty heavy.
i played drums in a cover band recently and can still. seems to be i end up on drums cos i can pley em, and have em, so i do...but would really like to get some guitar/bass time in...thats all im really lookin for..

Are you an outcast, dork, geek or a "non-pretty" drummer (or other musician) fed up with other bands who have a far fetched dream about being the next great thing? If you are....get with us! We won't disappoint you! We can suck as much as those other bands, but we'll leave you walking out the door feeling like you fit in!!!!

In other words: We're a local, left wing, political oriented band. Indy roots. Some people think we suck because we're not "sonically marketable" or "radio friendly". And all we can really say is we're really sorry we have better things to do than rip off Incubus and chase a pipe dream only the Beatles ever really attained.

We think we're solid because we do what we want with our songs and we have a good level of experience recording and playing our instruments and a good time doing it! We're not locked into the fantasy that somebody besides you will give a hell about your music, so we have an easy going atmosphere here. Play what feels good, as long as it fits. Just be willing to take a little direction from the other members of the rhythm section who have been there longer and know the songs.

We want a drummer who:

1. Can ignore the nay-sayers and just let it all hang out.
2. Can practice once a week near Detroit
3. Can believe in what you play
4. Can play a LITTLE to a meter, but who also has good natural feel
5. Is as fed up with the news and state of the world as we are.

Here's our stance: We welcome ranting-raving anti-Bush, anti-society group members with open arms. THAT is what we're looking for. I know we may get hijacked on this post, but I ask you respect our stance since we respect yours.

If you don't like the ideas we're putting out there: this is America. We differ in opinions and there's no crime in that or in seeking those who agree. We bring it up NOT to inflame you, rather to weed out people who come in expecting something that we're not.

We're in our 20's. So, you be too, or very close to that. Most of our material is Sex Pistols/Clash punky, but some goes beyond that and into the blues and jazz world. Still, most is just something we want to explore with a new drummer or with others who have similar politics. Our hope there is one drummer out there not scared to get up on stage and have a good time saying what they believe in. Lyrics are not really needed here, so I have to request a pure "lyrics" writer does not reply (please don't write saying "I write poems about Bush, you guys should play them"). Our son has a couple of years of Suzuki classical guitar instruction under his belt. He knows the basics of posture, fingering, etc. but does not play many songs yet. He is passionate about music, has a good ear, and is very motivated to play guitar.
