To be a team member of Metro Community Development to achieve its mission and goals, coordinate the functions among the organizational Focus Areas – Asset Building, Community Building and Coalition Building and represent the Chief Executive Officer at various committee and organizational meetings. Community revitalization and improved housing are ongoing objectives and require the position to facilitate the process of partnerships and foster collaborations between public and private sector. <br>

Purpose: Provide operational leadership and direction to programs that enhance the ability of low- and moderate-income families to increase economic stability through increases in income and assets.<br>
<br>
Supervises:  Counselor/Trainer(s), IDA & FSS Coordinators, and other appropriate staff members.<br>
1.	Recruit interns, work study students, and AmeriCorps members as needed. <br>
2.	Hire and Supervise part-time/full-time staff as needed<br>
<br>
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: <br>
<br>
1.	Program Management: Oversees all aspects of program operations. Coordinates <br>
education & training efforts, case management and counseling services, and free <br>
income tax preparation. Implement all counseling programs effectively and efficiently.  <br>
2.	Outcome Management: Ensures programs are results-oriented. Accurately tracks, monitors and reports on program outcomes. Assist in the development of outcome measures. Ensures timely submittal of reports to funding sources. <br>
3.	Program Development: Recommends program enhancements and/or complimentary programming. Conducts planning necessary to ensure smooth implementation of program plans, including new efforts. Ensure quality of  curriculum used in education and training efforts, including consistency and competence of performance among instructors and availability of classes in response to need. <br>
4.	Program Outreach and Recruitment: Ensures sufficient numbers of individuals are recruited through the development and implementation of outreach plans. Serves as program spokesperson for outreach and public relations efforts. <br>
5.	Staff Supervision and Development: Provide timely direction, support and feedback to staff. Meet with staff regularly to discuss progress. Identify and address staff development needs. <br>
6.	Budget Development and Management: Prepare an annual division budget as part of the agency’s annual budget process. Monitor spending regularly and make recommendations to ensure program cost effectiveness. Ensure program needs are addressed in budget deliberations. <br>
7.	Contract Management/Compliance & Reporting: Ensure programs are in compliance with all applicable grants and contracts. Prepare fund source and other reports as requires and on-time. <br>
8.	Community Relations/Collaborate: Communicate regularly with peers, other community groups, lenders and public officials to raise awareness of programs and ensure organizational objectives are met. Seek out opportunities for collaboration that will enhance services and/or open new opportunities. <br>
9.	Fundraising/New Business Development: Assist in the development of funding proposals. In collaboration with the Executive Director, actively pursue opportunities to expand/enhance programming. <br>
10.	Strategic Planning: Assist in the development of the agency’s annual strategic and operational plans. <br>
11.	 Advisor: Advise the CEO on areas pertaining to homeownership, asset development, and other housing and community development programs. Stay current on best practices and new developments in this field. <br>
12.	Work in close partnership with non-profits, HUD, MSHDA, Local governments, Foundations and other entities in developing the Continuum of Care Strategy. <br>
13.	To work on revitalization, projects that ensure sustaining and/or creating mixed income communities. <br>
14.	Must maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent human relation skills in dealing with various non-profits, businesses, church groups, and community development corporations, lending and government institutions, community associations and other institutions.<br>
15.	Submit timely reports to funding entity obtain reports from sub-recipient on timely basis, review and approve reimbursement requests. <br>
16.	All other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.<br>

Education and Experience Required:<br>
1.	Bachelors degree in Public Administration, Community Development, Finance,<br>
Business Administration or other related field and a minimum of 5 years program management experience in public or nonprofit agencies, at least 2 years in a supervisory role. MA preferred. <br>
2.	Experience in program development, budgeting and contract compliance. Knowledge of housing finance, real estate sales and homeownership education preferred. <br>
3.	In-depth knowledge of housing lending, commercial real estate, standard term loans and lines of credit, or credit policy/credit compliance<br>
4.	Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities while managing the entire Counseling programs in a strategic and organized manner<br>
5.	Good verbal and written communication skills. Experience working with people from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. <br>
6.	Must have the ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple projects, meet strict deadlines. Ensure appropriate program guidelines are met. <br>
7.	Must have the knowledge of federal and state funded programs, including CDBG, HOME, and others.<br>
8.	Must have the ability to plan and develop proposals to various Foundations, state and federal grants.<br>
9.	Must have excellent computer skills especially in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. <br>
10.	Must possess a valid State of Michigan Drivers License, insurable and insured vehicle required.<br>

The Michigan Humane Society has an immediate full-time opening for a Practice Coordinator at our Berman Center for Animal Care, Veterinary Center in Westland.   This position will counsel and work directly with clients regarding financial options and payment obligations, including Care Credit, discounts and payments.  This individual will also handle the financial aspects of the Veterinary Center, including billing, payments, collections, banking and deposits; will also assume a role in maintaining proper clinic operations to include timely and appropriate customer service, booking standards, and clinic office procedures.

Candidate must work cohesively with clients to discuss their financial responsibilities and explain their options for services; resolve client financial issues and reconcile fees charged to clients with services performed; create estimates using Cornerstone software; analyze financial disclosure forms and notify the clients; and, discuss the doctor’s estimate with the client.   In addition, candidate must handle complaints from the clients regarding payments; discuss financial concerns with clients; and input data into the computer.

An Associate’s degree is preferred but not required. Candidate must demonstrate a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, strong computer background (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and thorough attention to detail.  Must have excellent Communication and Conflict Resolution skills; ability to work through to resolve volatile situations with clients; ability to adapt approach to resolve client issues (i.e., assertive, compassionate, persuasive, professional).  The work schedule will be flexible (daytime, evenings, and weekends) in order to meet MHS goals.

The CRS will determine eligibility based on clinical, financial and managed care guidelines.  The majority of the work is completed via telephone interaction although walk in appointments will also be the responsibility of the CRS. Regular schedule is expected to be Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. although due to program needs evenings and weekends may be necessary.  Part time schedule is expected to be Monday through Thursday from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. although due to program needs occasional additional hours may be required.<br>
A Bachelors Degree in Social Work or a related field with two or more years of experience is preferred however, extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.  Additional requirements include: a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of individual families, the ability to engage in a therapeutic relationship with clients in order to best identify and refer to appropriate clinical staff.  Must have the ability to assess and intervene with clients during telephone intakes and face to face contacts to determine appropriateness of referrals to internal programs based on clinical, financial and managed care guidelines. The Psychologist is responsible for psychological evaluations of consumers including administration and the interpretation of psychometric instruments while providing direct services to agency consumers. The psychologist is also responsible for the development of treatment goals, case service plans in accordance with Person Centered Planning, thorough assessments, individual counseling, parent training, behavior modifications plans, and crisis intervention.  Regular working hours are expected to be a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.  Actual hours may be adjusted due to the needs of the consumer and the program.

AmeriCorps (americorps.gov) is considered the domestic version of the Peace Corps, and Downriver CARES is one of 19 such programs in the state that is funded by the Michigan Community Service Commission.<br>

The program focuses on four key areas: Literacy, Mentoring, School Based Services and Therapeutic Services.  The program is looking to fill the following positions: <br>
providing resource coordination for the homless through United Way-Downtown Detroit, youth and family resource coordination through School Based programming and providing life skills development to at risk youth and juvinelle offenders in Southgate.   Additional information about individual programs and placements is available.  Members support their sites and placements Monday thru Thursday.  On Friday’s the program performs community service projects throughout the Metro Detroit area.  THESE POSITIONS REQUIRE A BACHELORS DEGREE IN SOCIAL WORK, PSYCHOLOGY, EDUCATION OR OTHER HUMAN SEVICES FIELDS. This is an excellent opportunity for recent college grads and those looking to gain valuable, hands on work experience in the above mentioned fields.  <br>

The Guidance Center,is an innovative leader in providing behavioral health, substance abuse and educational programs to children, adults and families.  In operation for over 50 years, the private, non-profit agency is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations and is supported by third-party insurance, private pay, and public and private grants.  Today, the agency offers over 40 programs, and serves over 20,000 clients throughout the Downriver and metro Detroit communities.<br>

GENERAL FUNCTION:<br>
A lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all members and program participants within the aquatic facility by being on the guard stand or patrolling. He/she will be responsible for carrying out and enforcing aquatic policies and procedures in compliance with the statutes as described by the State of Michigan, the YMCA of the USA, Jeff Ellis and Associates and the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit.<br>
<br>
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:<br>
•	Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.<br>
•	At least one year of experience preferred.<br>
•	Must have Lifeguarding certification from Jeff Ellis and Associates, the YMCA or the American Red Cross. If it is YMCA or Red Cross, the individual must take the Ellis Crossover within 30 days of hire. Failure to do this will result in removal from the work schedule.<br>
•	Must have current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Supplemental Oxygen and First Aid.<br>
•	Successfully pass the Rescue Skills Water Evaluation<br>
•	Knowledge and ability to perform any rescues and emergency procedures as outlined by Ellis.<br>
•	Possess communication and human relations skills to deal with all types of members.<br>
•	If 16 years of age, the individual must always work with another guard 18 years of age or older.<br>
•	Individuals possessing a lifeguarding certification other than an Ellis license must work with an Ellis guard until they have successfully completed the Ellis crossover.<br>
<br>
JOB SEGMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:<br>
•	Be responsible for the safety and enjoyment of all participants in the pool area.<br>
•	Be on deck in proper attire (swimsuit, designated Y guard shirt, black shorts with whistle, Seal Easy mask, gloves and rescue tube).<br>
•	Use the lifeguard stand or patrol the pool deck scanning their zone of protection within 10 seconds.<br>
•	Be “rescue ready” at all times.<br>
•	Demonstrate the 5 minute strategy to remain alert at all times.<br>
•	Participate in audits as requested.<br>
•	Consistently enforce the pool rules at all times with fairness and courtesy.<br>
•	Know and follow emergency procedures and complete any necessary paperwork related to it.<br>
•	Never leave the pool unattended and/or open.<br>
•	Be prepared to respond to regular Vigilance Awareness Training (VAT).<br>
•	Follow all opening and closing procedures as designated by the Aquatic Director including completing the designated checklists.<br>
•	Test the chemical level of the pool water and log the results as designated by the Aquatic Director. Notify the Aquatic Director and/or Generalist of any findings outside of the acceptable range.<br>
•	Insure lifeline dividing the deep and shallow ends is in place during recreational swims when children are present.<br>
•	Do not engage in any activity which will detract from scanning the pool (including but not limited to: reading, TV watching, eating, text messaging, cell phone use, use of headphones or extended conversations with members and/or other staff).<br>
•	Attend a minimum of four hours of in-service per month. Failure to attend will result in being removed from the schedule.<br>
•	Alert the Aquatic Director or designated supervisor if unsafe conditions exist that require closing the pool for the safety of the patrons.<br>
•	Complete any other duties as assigned by supervisor.<br>

RESPONSIBILITIES:<br>
Primary responsibilities include: Provide front desk coverage and assistance to residents at our shelter; maintain building security; provide crisis and support telephone coverage, clerical duties, and prepare/clean bedrooms/bathrooms.<br>

Position Responsibilities<br>
•	Collect clothing and/or household goods from donors at the donation center, on routes, clothing drives and donation bins while issuing<br>
                tax receipt to donors for their goods or sorry cards for items not accepted  <br>
•	Operate and maintain an Easter Seals vehicle safely and efficiently completing all needed forms daily<br>
•	Properly load/unload route trucks, trailers and carts while weighing and documenting the weight of each load, stack, store and rotate <br>
                storage items within the donation center while maintaining the cleanliness of the donation center<br>
•	Properly use tie down straps, loading ramp and hand cart while moving and securing large loads <br>
•	Record address number of donations by collecting post cards as well as noting other addresses as needed on the back side of route<br>
                map sheet<br>
•	Put out signs as well as prepare and distribute marketing materials to advertise the donation center  (flyers, signage, balloons, etc)<br>
•	Performs other duties as assigned<br>
<br>
Required Skills and Abilities<br>
•	Candidate must have good interpersonal skills, working with the public<br>
•	Be able to read, write and understand English well enough to file reports, fill out forms and read road signs and map directions<br>
•	Candidate must have their own vehicle to transport to and from the donation station<br>
•	Candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), fingerprint and background check to operate an Easter Seals vehicle and qualify for<br>
                employment<br>

Development and deployment of a consumer education advertising campaign explaining tardive dyskinesia, a potential long term side effect of antipsychotic drugs like Seroquel (currently being advertised on tv for bipolar depression).<br>

The total budget for the project is $4000 - $5000.  The project is divided into four stages:<br>
<br>
1.  Medical review and research, communication with people who have been affected by tardive dyskinesia and/or who use seroquel, research similar ad campaigns<br>
2.  Development of consumer education campaign strategy and web site design and prototype, collection of videos and photos along with releases<br>
3.  Deployment of web site and ad campaign (print, web, etc)<br>
4.  Effectiveness of ad campaign in measuring attitude toward seroquel before and after consumer education <br>
<br>
There will be an up-front payment plus a payment at the completion of each stage (to be determined).  The total payment will be $4000 - $5000 depending on the success of the campaign.  The total payment includes all expenses (you are being hired as a contractor).  Deployment is expected within 6 weeks.<br>

You will be expected to provide detailed updates on a weekly basis.  The project is severable at any point for any reason by either party.  <br>

The project is being funded by a grant for consumer education.  No further information about the funder will be provided.<br>

Must possess and retain a current full license in the State of Michigan Social work and meet the criteria for Qualified Mental Health Professional. Must demonstrate completion of course work, fieldwork, or job experience which demonstrates competence in individual, family and group substance abuse chemical dependency treatment.  Must be able to work independently. Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.  Must have excellent organizational and attention to detail skills in order to track and prepare data accurately and timely.  Must have the ability interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.  Individual programs may have additional requirements.  Additional requirements include: cultural competency, ability to work effectively with a diverse population, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with youth and families in a variety of modes of treatment, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other unit staff and providers, effective communication skills, and a willingness to be flexible.<br>

2)	Identify the needs of the family across all life domains;<br>

4)	Based on the strengths and resources of the family, facilitate the development and implementation of individualized Wraparound Plans and Crisis Plans that address the needs of the family;<br>
5)	Link families with existing “categorical” community services based on their needs and preferences;<br>
6)	Modify the composition of the Child and Family Team and the content of the Wraparound and Crisis Plans as needed based on the changing needs of the family.  <br>
Services are delivered in the home or community based on the needs and preferences identified by the family.  In addition to providing family-centered services, the Wraparound Facilitator is responsible to help families to develop collaborative relationships with other human service organizations and people or agencies in the community who can help to enhance and maintain a viable support network for the family after services have ended.  The Wraparound Facilitator is responsible to help coordinate and integrate services that are provided to families by multiple service providers and to identify and eliminate barriers to effective service delivery.  Will be required to maintain an active case load of 15 cases each week. •	Minimum of three years experience in the human service field.<br>

Qualifications: Successful candidate must have knowledge of the Arab American community; Technical and personal skills required for conducting and archiving oral history interviews; A thorough understanding of material culture and the use of objects in documenting and interpreting personal narratives; An ability to think beyond the present and envision the future development of the AANM, its collections, exhibits, and programs;  The willingness to travel and work occasional weekends; A thorough understanding of collections principals and practices, collections management issues and trends, and care and conservation of collections; Exceptional oral and written communication skills while working with other staff, members of the Arab American community, potential donors, and the general public; And the ability to conceive a plan, set attainable goals and objectives, and develop and implement creative and effective strategies to creatively achieve those goals.<br>

Education/Experience: Ideal candidate should have a B.A or M.A. in a museum-related field, at least one year of professional experience in a museum or related cultural institution<br>

Qualifications: Successful candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills.  Non-profit experience is a must.  Must have experience in grant writing.  Candidate should be a strong community organizer. <br>

Education/Experience: Ideal candidate should have a Master’s Degree in non-profit management or a humanities-related field with at least 4 years of leadership and management experience, preferably in non-profit.<br>

Outreach Specialists will be responsible for coordinating outreach and enrollment activities with local non-profit organizations and working to assist communities to ensure all eligible children have health insurance. Extensive travel across the state of Michigan will be required; travel expenses will be reimbursed.<br>

Outreach Specialists will be hired for one year as members of the AmeriCorps community service program and are provided a living stipend, an education scholarship award and free health insurance.<br>

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:<br>

Provide clerical support<br>
Coordinate and maintain service contacts for equipment and appliances<br>
Order and maintain supplies, including shopping for the residential unit<br>
Maintain and audit records, maintain monthly drills and logs<br>
Prepare monthly reports<br>
Assist in scheduling staff<br>
Reconcile pharmacy bills and assist in preparing paperwork for processing<br>
Maintain emergency bags in vehicles and in residential unit.<br>
<br>
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:<br>
<br>
High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years previous experience in providing adminstrative support<br>
<br>
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:<br>
<br>
Excellent communication skills both oral and written<br>
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail<br>
Proficient in Micorsoft Office products<br>
Mininal knowledge of medical terminology<br>
Ability to relate to clients of various age, sex, economic and educational background, personality types and probles.<br>
Ability to deal with violent or potentially violent clients.]]></description>

Provide daily support including preparing correspondence, responding to inquiries, providing daily updates<br>
Coordinate and organize committee meetings - both internal and external<br>
Coordinate and maintain adminstrative records, filing, contracts, policies, and reporting requirements for all programs and services<br>
Assist with arranging travel arrangements and intineraries<br>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<br>

Bachelors Degree with 4-5 years experience in providing executive administrative or secretarial support<br>
