It was developed in California, the fitness capital of the West Coast, by the founder of the National Exercise Sports Trainers Association Dr. John Spencer Ellis. However Dave Krainiak thought the program would be a perfect fit for the fitness enthusiasts in Michigan and launched the program in Bloomfield Hills.

�We have great fitness enthusiasts here in Oakland County that always want to try out the hottest exercise program that really delivers results,� Krainiak said. �Our IMPACT workouts are intense, but can be easily adapted to the skill level of nearly any bootcamp participants.�

Dec, 31 2009 � NORTHVILLE, Mich. � Even though National Self Improvement Month is already half over, there�s plenty of time for the 28.9 percent of Michigan residents considered obese by the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention to get started on a fitness self improvement program with the Oakland County Adventure Bootcamps.

�Getting started on your fitness improvement program can make a big difference in your body image right before the holidays� said Dave Krainiak, program director and head coach for Oakland County�s Adventure Bootcamps. �We make it really easy for beginners to get started in our program and show quick results.�

A passenger who boarded Northwest Airlines Flight 253 in Amsterdam with attempted plane bomber Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab says the would-be terrorist had no passport and was aided by a sharp-dressed man who claimed Mutallab was a Sudanese refugee, just one of a plethora of startling inconsistencies surrounding an incident that has led to ramped up security and increased levels of harassment in airports.

Every single fact that has come to light since the attempted bombing on Christmas Day directly indicates that the bomber was deliberately allowed to board the plane and that his attack would have succeeded if not for the alert and brave reactions of the passengers and flight crew.

According to Kurt Haskell, an attorney with the Haskell Law Firm in Taylor, Michigan, �He and his wife were sitting on the ground near their boarding gate in Amsterdam, which is when they saw Mutallab approach the gate with an unidentified man.�

Mutallab was a poorly dressed, young looking individual, but he was accompanied by a man in an expensive suit, Haskell told MLive.com.

�He says the suited man asked ticket agents whether Mutallab could board without a passport. �The guy said, �He�s from Sudan and we do this all the time.��

Although Mutallab is Nigerian, Haskell said the well-dressed man portrayed him as a desperate Sudanese refugee in an attempt to elicit sympathy and as a way of bypassing his lack of documents.

�The ticket agent referred Mutallab and his companion to her manager down the hall, and Haskell didn�t see Mutallab again until after he allegedly tried to detonate an explosive on the plane,� states the report.

Crucially, Haskell said that after the plane landed he saw another man being taken into custody by the FBI along with Mutallab. However, the FBI later said that Mutallab was the only individual taken into custody.

Were the feds retrieving their own agent, the sharp dressed man who ensured that Mutallab boarded the plane despite his overwhelmingly suspicious circumstances?

Mutallab was a known security threat who was on the terror watch list. He is barred from entering Britain after being refused a new visa due to applying for a fake university course. Separate reports said that he did hold a valid visa, which begs the question, how can someone on a terror watch list be allowed to fly?

�On the one hand, it seems he�s been on the terror watch list but not on the no-fly list,� he said. �That doesn�t square because the American Department for Homeland Security has pretty stringent data-mining capability. I don�t understand how he had a valid visa if he was known on the terror watch list,� Dr Magnus Ranstorp of the Center for Asymmetric Threat Studies told the London Independent.

It has also been revealed that Mutallab�s father contacted U.S. intelligence officials a month ago and warned them that his son was a threat, but nothing was done.

The bomber�s father, Alhaji Umaru Mutallab, was a a former minister and chairman of First Bank in Nigeria. The bomber does not fit the image of a disgruntled, rag-tag terrorist. His considerable wealth allowed him to live in luxury at an imposing London mansion.

As a result of the failed attack, new security directives have been introduced for anyone traveling into America. Intense body and hand-luggage searches and sniffer dogs have been beefed up at departure gates and passengers have been ordered not to stand during the final hour of the flight and are not allowed access to any of their hand luggage during the final hour.

There can be little doubt that whatever the nature of this incident, it will be exploited to the maximum in order to further tighten the stranglehold of police state security measures that are increasingly finding their way out of the airport and into our everyday lives. Homeland Security proposals to use a mandatory shock bracelet that will be fitted to all travelers will now move closer to implementation, as will the increased global rollout of x-ray scanning machines that produce naked images of passengers.

However, if you�re a suspicious looking man on a terror watch list with no passport carrying explosives, you should breeze through security with no questions asked, just be sure to have a sharp-dressed man with you at all times.

Royal Oak City Council has SCREWED the Farmers Market for a Second time is 2 weeks! Can Anyone Saw Revolt Thousands of Farmers market Shoppers Will be getting all the city council phone numbers soon!

First they turn down a restaurant just 100 feet from a structure because of lack of parking.

Then days later they approve a gigantic couple of thousand seat Multiplex near the same structure. Plus it has a Bowling ally Bar/ Restaurant and catering hall. This sits up against a senior housing and neighborhoods. There is parking across the street that is already over taxed. Plus Farmers market parking that is already full.
NOW the City counsel has selling OVER 100 valet permits and employee permits from Farmers Market parking because there is not enough parking there. Weird there was not enough parking for a smaller project a week before.
These permits are DURING Marker Hours. The parking is FULL during these hours. This will kill the farmers market and The Flea Market!
They want to kill the farmers market it so they can build a New City Hall.
I wish they would just admit it.

PLUS they approved Arts Beats and Eats Festival Labor Day weekend.
For Years the promoters said they get 1,000,000 attendances. Now they say 200,000 or so. This will be in a downtown that only has a few thousand parking spaces.
This will be happing in a downtown that has large residential condos in it.
Not to mention neighborhoods up against it.
We don�t even have enough parking during the Garage Sale, or Art Fair and these are ting in comparison.
The council just decided to sell the parking at F. M. for Arts Beats and Eats to the promoters. They are just closing it during Peak Harvest the next 5 years.
This is the biggest F. M. Day of the year.
Screw the Farmers, Screw the flea Market Screw the shoppers and Screw the Markets revenue
These council idiots don�t live anyplace near downtown. They don�t work down town.
They could care less how it affects the small business people or the people who liver there.
Oh yea they are doing this all for The Bar and restaurant owners!!!

Internet Censorship, US, Australia, Draconian, Orwellian, Block, Filter, Infowars

In the UK, US, Australia and some other countries, there are some Draconian pieces of legislation that are working their way into Congress and Parliament. The bills basically want to give power to governments to be able to filter or censor any website that it wants to. Infowars gives a chilling article about the subject:

In the UK, legislation slated as the �Digital Economy Bill�, currently being debated in the House of Lords, would allow the Home Secretary to place �a technical obligation on internet service providers� to block whichever sites it wishes.

Under clause 11 of the proposed legislation �technical obligation� is defined as follows:

A �technical obligation�, in relation to an internet service provider, is an obligation for the provider to take a technical measure against particular subscribers to its service.

A �technical measure� is a measure that � (a) limits the speed or other capacity of the service provided to a subscriber; (b) prevents a subscriber from using the service to gain access to particular material, or limits such use; (c) suspends the service provided to a subscriber; or (d) limits the service provided to a subscriber in another way.

In other words, the government will have the power to force ISPs to downgrade and even block your internet access to certain websites or altogether if it wishes.

The legislation comes in the wake of amplified UK government efforts to seize more power over the internet and those who use it.

For months now unelected �Secretary of State� Lord Mandelson has overseen government efforts tochallenge the independence of the of UK�s internet infrastructure.

Australia appears to be the first one to go down this path, according to reports. The Sydney Morning Herald says:

Separately, a report into the scope of content that will be caught up in the net filters concluded that the Government's policy might lead to a wide range of innocuous material disappearing from Australians' computer screens.

Commentators in Australia and overseas have interpreted Senator Conroy's policy as pushing the country towards being like repressive regimes such as China and Iran.

University of Sydney associate professor Bjorn Landfeldt said the Government had still failed to address serious issues such as whether the internet filtering scheme would result in any meaningful reduction in harmful content and whether it was worth the effort, given the risk that the scope of blocked content could widen significantly.

"There's no clear definition of refused classification that can be debated in society ... [and] once you put a label such as refused classification in place, that doesn't mean that the meaning cannot be changed," he said in a phone interview.

However, according to the Electronic Frontier Australia spokesperson, this will probably be easy for Australians to bypass, says Online-Casinos article:

Colin Jacobs, spokesperson for Electronic Frontiers Australia, said, "Any motivated user will be able to get around it, it will be quite easy, so who is this being targeted at?" Calling into question the effectiveness of the censorship filter. Jacobs added when discussing the plan, "Although it may address some technical issues, what it leaves out is far more important, exactly what will be blocked, who will decide, and why is it being attempted in the first place?"

Conroy said that the next step would be for the government to start a public consultation process with the release of a discussion paper on additional measures to improve the accountability and transparency of processes that lead to sites being placed on the blacklist.

UAW Local 771 is being sued in Federal Court for not Representing its UAW Union Due Paying Member Kevin. Court date is in February 2010. Local President Bill Costie when first heard of the Lawsuit said, "Fuck it, it will be thrown out before it goes to court". Well guess what Bill its not going to be thrown out and you are to blame. The UAW negelected to take Kevins grievance to arbitration for being wrongfully discharged after over 20 years as a faithfull member. The UAW has let its members down many many times, especially UAW Local 771 and the UAW Region 1b. The UAW will make sure you pay your monthly union dues. I for one am glad the UAW is being sued for lack of Representation . With the attitude like UAW Local 771 President Bill Costie, its no wonder the UAW is a piss pour UNION. Good Luck Kevin. Its a shame Kevin has to pay money out of his own pocket for something he was paying the UAW Local 771 to do. The UAW takes your money and does not a damn thing for you. But the UAW Local 771 with Bill Costie as Local President will take Fired employee Rodney Bolton to Arbitration for making racial threats about President Elect Obama and other UAW members. Afro-Brazilian workout combines music, martial arts

Capoeira is at once a playful dance, a form of martial arts, a game, a musical experience and a great workout. At least, that's the impression you get watching a class taught by José Dantas, who goes by the name Mestre Caboquinho. Caboquinho works full-time teaching the Afro-Brazilian art form to people in metro Detroit and Ann Arbor.

Capoeira traces its roots to Brazil 500 years ago when Africans enslaved by the Portuguese used it to train, undercover, in martial arts.

"When the Portuguese would see Brazilians practicing, they would say, 'Oh, are you fighting?' " said Roshiani Dantas, Caboquinho's wife, who translated for him. "Africans would say, 'No, no, we're not fighting. We're dancing.' There are a lot of tricks involved."

Those tricks happen in a roda, or circle, of people playing instruments like drums and a berimbau, which looks like a long rod with a wire and weighted ball strung on it.

Two people will meet in the roda to play capoeira -- they spin, do handstands and kick, all in apparent synchronization. One kicks high, the other ducks. One spins left, the other right. It's like a dance -- and that's the point.

There is no contact, no violence, only the hint that the same moves could be used to fight.

Beyond the physical, capoeira is a mental exercise. Caboquinho can't answer questions about the practice without becoming philosophical. Take his explanation of how quickly newcomers can pick it up.

"You have to put together the truth with the lies," Roshiani Dantas translated. "That's how life is, and he's saying it's the same thing in capoeira."

Caboquinho says he's the only Brazilian mestre -- which means master -- teaching authentic capoeira in Michigan.

About 25 people take his classes, which meet at various facilities in Detroit. And Caboquinho said he will soon open another training space, the Brazilian Cultural House, in Detroit.

Anyone can sign up, and it draws people both with and without Brazilian roots. Many, like Dione Robinson, come to get in shape and to experience something authentic.

"The music, the culture, the exercise," said Robinson, a 29-year-old student from Wayne State University. He has been doing capoeira for four years and said it has helped him lose nearly 100 pounds. "I'm witness to this, because I used to have a bad knee and my knee's not hurting anymore because I've been doing this."

One student named Chris Cooper found local classes six months ago. Since then, the Costa Rica native said he has gotten his six-pack back.

"I used to be very lazy," said Cooper, 17, a student at Life Skills Center of Detroit. "It's changed my life a little bit. It showed me how to be more respectful and a little bit more calm and patient."

We are in need of some one to help us out this year for Christmas. My parents have 12 kids. I am 19 and the second oldest of all kids in the house. The youngest in the household are two 5 year old twin girls. This year it's sad to say that we are not gonna have a Christmas. My parents are low income home owners. They have no jobs no money to buy any of the little ones anything. I lost my job not to long ago and what ever i had saved up went towards the house mortgage. My parents have no clue that i am writing this. I am writing this with much embarrassment but i have no other choice. I pray each and every day that god would make it easier for us but we have almost given up hope. I just want my other 11 brothers and sisters and my mom and dad to be happy this Christmas and to wake up Christmas morning and find presents under the tree. I am in tears as I'm writing this. I have no where else to go to and ask for help. Please help my family. I am leaving this in gods hands and I pray that he sends his angels this Christmas to our home. All other families out there who are asking for help this holiday, you will be in our prayers!! God bless each and every one of you for reading.
