I never thought I’d be making a post like this, but my fiancé and I are in need of housing help and resources for our family. We have three children and are currently facing eviction and have to be out by next week.
Over the past several months, we experienced a number of financial setbacks. My fiancé’s job was on-call, so he picked up extra work through Uber Eats and Spark (Walmart delivery). I lost my job in January 2026 and began working for Spark and Amazon Flex until last month, when both of our vehicles broke down. We had to use our savings to repair them, which put us behind financially.
Our credit is not the best right now because of the hardships we’ve faced, but we are actively rebuilding it and working hard to get back on track. We both recently started new jobs that pay weekly, and together we make enough to afford around $1,700 per month in rent. We can provide proof of income and employment.
We have lived at Rivers Edge for the past three years and tried to work with management, explaining that we would have the full two months of back rent paid by June 30, but unfortunately they were unwilling to work with us, so we now have to find a new place to live.
We are good people who have always tried to help others when we could, and now we find ourselves needing help. If anyone knows of any second-chance housing, private landlords, rental programs, or other housing resources that may be willing to work with a family rebuilding their credit, we would be incredibly grateful.
We are doing everything we can to avoid homelessness and keep a roof over our children’s heads. Any leads, referrals, or information would mean so much to us.
Thank you for reading and for any help you can provide.
