favorite this post Found a stray pet? check for a microchip (please read) hide this posting unhide

If you have found a stray pet you can take to any vet and have it scanned for a microchip, there is no charge for this. Especially if that pet is friendly you would think it belongs to someone looking for it. It takes a little doing on your part but if the pet is scanned for a chip and the current info shows up there is a very good chance it could be returned. Many vet offices have bulletin boards with pictures of many lost and found pets. Put that pets picture on the board.
Remember that if your pet is microchipped and you change your phone number you need to update the information so in case your pet is lost and someone decent finds they have your correct current info.
