Art Garland Base Burner style parlour stove.Very nice condition. restored about 15 years ago.never fired so very clean. Was sandblasted to bare metal, all holesre tapped, etc.New screws. Sent out to be redone in Hi heat red enamel Unique lions head design looks both stunning and imposing without looking ridiculous from too much gingerbread.
When I restored the stove I never intended to fire it, I have used it as a display/conversation piece with red christmas Rope lights in the bottom to provide a proper "coal fire" look. With this in mind I had all the glass done in Polycarbonate. I like the extreme clarity better. But if you wanted to "use" it this would have to be replaced with Mica.. Fairly easy, just remove the current pieces and use them as a pattern (as I said, all the screws and holes are new/redone, so easy.
When I was a boy a local restaurant had one in red, they had set it up with a heat lamp in the top and used it to display hot apple pies and apple dumplings.I wanted that stove ever sense, hence recreated here.
I have looked at many others and they often have an abundance of cracks. I only remember one crack, it was minor and inside ( doesnt show).
The nickel on the legs is not great, but the rest of the nickel is very nice! The stove still looks awesome !
would consider a partial trade for a modern EPA woodstove ( especialy a vermont castings or Dutchwest in red). the stove would have to have a rear flu option ( Vermont Casting, Dutchwest, Hearthstone) etc.
