This set comes directly out of an estate tied to the publishing world, which explains the presence of the proof and the editorial markings.
The White Album (1979, Simon & Schuster) – First edition, signed by Joan Didion on the title page. Dust jacket shows wear consistent with age, but the book itself is strong, tight in the binding, with clean pages. A genuine piece for collectors.
After Henry (1992 Advance Uncorrected Reader’s Proof, Simon & Schuster) – Yellow proof copy with dog-eared pages and some handling wear, but no writing beyond the inside note.
Slouching Towards Bethlehem (1979 Touchstone reprint) – Earlier printing of Didion’s landmark essay collection. Bright cover with markings on bottom edge.
Condition: Each book shows age and handling appropriate to its vintage. Please see photos for details. The After Henry proof has creases and dog-eared pages. The White Album jacket has wear, but the signature inside is bold and clear.
