Some insurance companies are now raising your deductible if your BMI is too high. They will give you a free Fit-bit to wear, and if you reach a predetermined minimum number of steps they will lower you deductible or may offer other incentives.
Here's where I "step in": I'm going to start training for another half-marathon. For $25 (per pedometer) I will wear your pedometer (Fit-bit) while doing so.
You'll get the credit for the steps, and the lower deductible on your health plan. I'll get $25. Win/Win.
