We are a growing software development startup serving small and medium-sized businesses in the Detroit metro area. We specialize in custom software, automation, and AI-driven solutions that help local companies streamline operations, reduce costs, and scale.
This is a Detroit-based, freelance sales / business development consultant role focused on in-person and local relationship-driven consulting.
You will work directly with Detroit-area SMBs, meeting business owners and managers face-to-face where appropriate to understand their operations and identify opportunities for software, automation, or AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect and engage small and medium-sized businesses in Detroit and the surrounding metro area
Conduct in-person, phone, and video discovery meetings with local business owners and decision-makers
Attend local networking events, chambers of commerce, or industry meetups as needed
Build long-term relationships within the Detroit small business ecosystem
Identify opportunities for custom software, automation, and AI solutions tailored to local businesses
Qualify and document opportunities for handoff to our technical team
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must be based in Detroit or the greater Detroit metro area
Familiarity with the local business landscape (manufacturing, logistics, professional services, healthcare, retail, etc. is a plus)
Experience in B2B sales, consulting, or business development
Comfortable with in-person outreach and relationship building
Existing Detroit-area SMB network is a strong plus
