Job Summary:
AJH is looking to hire an experienced rough framer to assist in adding second-story additions in Oakland and Wayne County. Current jobs are located in Detroit and consist of full rehab. This position requires a framer who can assist in the complete rehab; however, the primary job assignment will be a rough framer. Therefore, the carpenter must be efficient in helping stick frame addition with no trusses, so the carpenter has experience cutting rafters for hip and gable roofs. No exception! Carpenters must be efficient in doing unsupervised work that is efficient and of good quality. Start time is from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm with paid lunch. Lunch breaks are 30 mins. There will be bonuses and reviews for raises based on satisfactory performance. The company is veteran-owned and minority-owned, so inclusion and equal opportunity is our priority.

Key Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, and shape lumber and other materials precisely.
- Assemble and install building components, including walls, floors, and roofs.
- Follow blueprints, building codes, and safety regulations to ensure the structural integrity of the building.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure proper coordination and execution of the project.
- Inspect and repair any structural deficiencies or defects as needed.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and nail guns.
- Adhere to project timelines and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

- Proven experience as a rough framer or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and building codes.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
