This pinback is an advertisement for the Blodgett-Beckley Coffee Company of Toledo, Ohio, who produced coffee in the early 1900s.

The front features an elf wearing a red beanie hat with a scripted “B” logo (Blodgett-Beckley). The back notes that it was made by the Whitehead and Hoag Co. of Newark, NJ.

Normally, Old Master Coffee advertising used a picture of “The Old Master.”

What makes this pinback so rare is that the company used an elf only for its San Mateo Coffee advertising—except for this pinback.

As you can see from the photos, it’s in great shape. And very, very rare.
