I’m not sure where Fleming’s Ice Cream was made, but it certainly was sold in Jackson and Bay City, Michigan. I’ve seen empty pint and quart cartons (“bricks”) from the 1930s and 40s, but I’ve never seen an advertising fan.
The fan is large, measuring 9 1/4 inches long and 8 3/4 inches at its widest point. The wooden handle is 6 inches long.. Graphics are in a starburst pattern with lithographed stitching at the borders on both ends.
This promotional fan most likely was handed out to local customers who bought a “brick” of Fleming’s Ice Cream so that they would be cool, refreshed, and nourished.
This fan is in amazing shape and has been carefully stored away for a long time.
