Local Electronics Help Needed – Short Project (Consult + Assembly) (Downriver)

I’m looking for someone local with hands-on experience in small electronics to help complete a practical, real-world project. I need someone reliable who can review an existing setup, identify issues, and help get it assembled and working correctly.
What I need help with:
Review and align an existing small electronics setup
Identify any components that are worn out or unreliable
Recommend missing or better-suited parts (I’ll order them)
Some consultation via messages and possibly a short video call
Once parts arrive, meet locally to assemble, wire, and test
Some components I currently have may be worn from repeated disconnecting/reconnecting, so part of this is helping clean things up and do it correctly.
Estimated time commitment:
Approximately 3–8 hours total, including consultation and in-person assembly
Pay:
$25/hour
This project is self-funded. I’m currently on disability and actively working to get off government assistance by building something real and sustainable. I wish I could pay more, but I’m committed to paying fairly and respecting your time.
About the project / why it matters:
Animals have helped me tremendously in my own life, and this project is my way of giving something back. If it succeeds, proceeds will directly help animals, so this may be a good fit for someone who enjoys electronics and also cares about animal welfare.
Future work:
This post is for this specific project, but if I find the right person and things go well, I do have other ideas I’d like to pursue, so there may be additional paid work in the future. No obligation — just being upfront.

I have a simple NDA that anyone working on the project will need to sign
It’s basic and mainly for peace of mind regarding the electronics layout and concept
Who this is for:
Hands-on electronics experience (hobbyist, maker, repair tech, etc.)
Comfortable troubleshooting and advising on parts
Local and able to meet in person
