Dean Playmate Bass - $70 (Dearborn)

I got this bass through a large music trade. This is a Dean Playmate bass from the 1990s, and when I took a good look at it after getting it, I realized that it needed a lot of work. The previous owner replaced the original pickguard with a standard P-bass guard, which fit in a bad way that left a gap near the output jack. I did a quick patch job. I also removed what must have been a dozen goofy stickers to get it back to its original paint job look. And I added a thumb rest which had holes drilled in the pickguard. I don't want to invest much more work into this, as I'm already losing money on it for the price. It serves as a good back-up bass, or HEY!, for a good New Year's resolution, learn a musical instrument (the bass) this year!
