Hi everyone!
We’re collecting any old coats and boots you have extra that can be distributed to the most vulnerable of our neighbors, those that shun the shelters and would rather remain on the streets.
I’ve been buying and collecting all sorts of things to hand out like:
Backpack to hold;
First aid kit w/surgical stapler/remover
Surgical glue
Sewing kits
Small tool kits
Nail clippers/manicure sets
Reading glasses
USB powered lights
“Medusa” USB cables (all major connectors on one end and a standard USB A to plug into a power source/battery)
Charging blocks
Boot laces
USB battery bank
Hand crank battery bank charger
Baby wipes
Wool socks
Water purification tabs
“Life Straw” personal water filtration straw
Permanent match
Rechargeable head lamp
Magnifying glass
Smart watch ($5 is all a clone costs and the basic functions like message/email alerts and time checks uses a LOT less energy than even glances at your phone’s screen, so these help conserve a very valuable resource)
And I would REALLY like to include USB battery/charging block plug in heated hoodies but I can’t get the price any lower than $18 per and that’s just outside my budget since I’m doing this all on my own out of pocket, so instead I’m asking you Dear Reader to help me out with the two most expensive things to buy even used or wholesale; good durable and servicable warm winter coats and boots that you have laying around extra that can be put to good use.
Of course if anyone would like to help with a small cash donation I can put towards the goods listed above I’ve bought, am buying and will be continuing to buy all winter long, that would be fantastic!
The most expensive items are seriously coats and boots, even buying at a wholesale bulk quantity would still have it at around $20 to $30 per coat/pair of boots that would last more than a season on the streets. More than happy to take anything extra off your hands.
You can either drop off to me on the west side, make arrangements to pick up from you or meet someplace.
If you would like to just drop a few anonymous dollars this way feel free to use my Venmo that’s above. Even $5 can go towards buying the most needed items like a first aid kit, and a few essentials
